The Director of the para operations of the Indian Air Force has been arrested for espionage by a Delhi police special cell.

Arun Marwa, who was the group captain of the Indian Air force and posted in New Delhi had been detained earlier by counter intelligence wing of IAF and questioned for possible spying for Pakistan.

The officer is now in five days police remand. Marwa, who was honey-trapped through two Facebook accounts was suspected to have passed "critical information," over the last few months. He was accused of sending combat related information to his ISI handlers.

The 51-year-old officer had been indulging in activities through unauthorised electronic devices which is against existing orders. He used various social media platforms to pass on the information.

The Delhi police special cell after filing the case arrested the 51-year-old officer, who was later produced at the Patiala House Court and sent to police remand for five days. They have also confiscated the officer's phone.
