Members of the city-based Niladrivihar Youth & Cultural Association (NYCA) paid a courtesy visit to King of Nepal Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev during his visit here on Thursday.
A team consists of NYCA president Dr Prakash Chandra Panigrahi, general secretary Biswajit Pattnaik and some senior members met the king and apprised him about the social welfare and cultural activities, the silver jubilee celebrations this year and other programmes undertaken by the association.
They also discussed about India-Nepal bilateral issues and the rich cultural similarity between the two countries. The king invited the members of the association to visit Nepal under a cultural exchange programme.
The NYCA members expressed their gratitude to the king by offering him an Uttariys, a flower bouquet and a souvenir containing the activities of the association. The king appreciated the association’s activities over such a long period of time and wished all success for its silver jubilee celebrations.
Among others, Odisha working president of Viswa Hindu Parishad Badrinath Pattnaik and member of Puri Gobardhan Peeth Suvendu Nayak were present.
