City-based Maa Ghara Foundation Trust and the Swadhinata Sangrami Saheed Smruti Sanshad under the leadership of social activist Rutuparna Mohanty held a demonstration at the Lower PMG here on Thursday pressing for fulfilment of their five-point charter of demands.
The demands included justice to the Kunduli gangraped minor girl, to enforce the Orissa Prohibition Act 1956 enacted by former Chief Minister Nabakrushan Choudhury and to take steps to prohibit manufacturing, sale and consumption of intoxicants like liquors and drugs in Odisha. The demands also included setting up of a special court and formation of a
probe committee to hear the pending cases of crimes against women and children in the different police stations and courts in the State.
