DUBAI: In line with the Year of Zayed, the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, held an exhibition titled “Sports in the legacy of Sheikh Zayed” at Al Wasl Club, where 100 rare sport-related historic pictures featuring the founding father of the UAE at various sports events were displayed.
Speaking at the inaugural Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the DHA said the event was held to mark the Year of Zayed, announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to commemorate this historic national occasion.
2018 marks 100 years since the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the founding father of the UAE who passed away in 2004.
Al Qutami said that the authority has a number of events and activities on its agenda to commemorate his memory and showcase his impact and legacy and promote the values that he displayed through his life in creative and interactive ways. These events reflect his values, which focus on building a strong and productive society capable of elevating the UAE’s world status.
He added that Sheikh Zayed’s memory will always remain alive among the people of the UAE.
