There were a total of 19,372 prisoners in jails of 26 districts in Chhattisgarh as on December 31, 2017 against the capacity of 12,281 prisoners, the Chhattisgarh Assembly was informed.
As on December 31, 2017 , Raipur Central Jail had 3144 prisoners against the capacity of 1190 prisoners.
The Central Jail in Bastar at Jagdalpur had 2238 prisoners against capacity of 1351 prisoners.
Central Jail Bilaspur had 3484 prisoners against capacity of 1638 prisoners.
The Central Jail Durg has 2062 prisoners against capacity of 1606 prisoners.
Central Jail Ambikapur had 2488 prisoners against capacity of 1020 prisoners.
