Fire at York play area believed to be arson

ARSONISTS are believed to have started a fire at a children's play area in York yesterday evening.

A fire crew was called to a fire involving children's play equipment at Grange Lane Play Area near Askham Lane shortly before 7pm.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire fire service said: "The cause of fire is believed to be deliberate."

Crews put out the fire using knapsack sprayers.
