PITTSBURG — A Pittsburg man has been identified as the deceased in a train versus pedestrian collision that occurred Saturday.

Jerwin Billy, 21, of Pittsburg was discovered by Pittsburg Police Department officers Saturday, when they responded to reports of a train colliding with a pedestrian near Rouse Avenue.

Officers responded to the area near the Kansas City Southern railroad tracks at approximately 1:45 p.m Saturday. Upon arrival, the officers were able to locate Billy. He was later declared deceased.

Billy was identified Monday.

The incident is still under investigation by PPD.

Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS also responded to the incident Saturday.
