GREATER NOIDA: Residents of sector Pi 3 Greater Noida demand
speed breakers and
reflectors on the threshold of gate number 1 of the sector which leads to the main road connecting the
sector road into a tri-junction. The tri-junction, which leads to Expo Mart from Pi 3 roundabout and goes on to
Noida expressway, has vehicles plying in high speed all through the day which makes it difficult for residents of sector P 3 to turn on the main road without avoiding the possibility of an accident.
"Our sector road in front of gate number 1 meets the main road via a tri-junction. The tri-junction in turn leads to Expo Mart and Noida expressway from sector P 3 roundabout. This tri-junction including the roundabout on the main road of our sector is a very busy route. All through the day vehicles drive past in high speed here which makes it difficult for residents of the sector to turn on the main road without the fear of facing a possible accident. The problem is most acute for school children, women and the elderly," said Aditya Bhati resident of sector P 3 Greater Noida.
"We often feel unsafe coming on to the main road as we have to look out for speeding vehicles that cross the tri-junction," said Neha Singh, a resident of the sector.
Bhati maintained that while residents of the sector had earlier demanded speed breakers and light reflectors on both sides of the tri-junction, there has been no response from Greater Noida authority on the matter yet. "With no solution and satisfactory step coming from Greater Noida authority on the matter so far, we have made a fresh request to the authority today (on Monday) to look into our request on an urgent basis," said Bhati who adds that if left untended, the area is bound for an accident waiting to happen.
