The Ladycats have been on the road for their previous last three outings to close out their series meeting in conference play at Hot Springs Lakeside, Camden-Fairview and Arkansas High-Texarkana.
This Friday night, the Ladycats look to end their road trip of conference hoops against their longtime school rivals' Magnolia Lady Panthers at Panther Arena in Magnolia.
LADYCATS 47, LAKESIDE 74
The Ladycats competed hard in their series finale against Hot Spring Lakeside Lady Rams on Tuesday night. The Ladycats only had a 16-10 deficit at the end of first period action, but the Lady Rams outscored Hope 14-6 in the second. At halftime, the Ladycats trailed Lakeside 30-16. In the second half, the Ladycats posted in double-digit scoring periods with 12 points in the third and 19 in the fourth, but the Lady Rams accounted 24 points in the third and 18 in the fourth to prevail and sweep the series against Hope.
For the game, the Ladycats shot 43 percent from the field, made 7-for-16 3-pointers for 44 percent behind the arc and shot 4-for-6 free-throws for 67 percent at the foul line. Hope made five points in transition, six second chance points, 16 points in the paint with 32 total rebounds, four deflections and steals with two blocks against Lakeside.
Ladycats' Lanay Wheaton led scoring with 14 points and Ra'Nayzia Miller followed with 13 points for double-figures. Wheaton also snatched 13 rebounds for a double-double with four assists, one steal and one deflection. Miller had one rebound, five assists and one deflection. Ke'Azha Roberts finished with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Courtney Davis added seven points, with four assists, five rebounds and Andria Curtis scored four points with three rebounds and two steals and Zahria Woods contributed one point.
LADYCATS 55, CAMDEN-FAIRVIEW 61
The Ladycats gave a hard fought effort in defeat to Camden-Fairview Lady Cardinals 61-55 in the first of two game series match-up in conference play. The Ladycats shot 33 percent from the field, 40 percent from behind the arc and made 19-for-30 free-throws for 63 percent. Hope made 11 points in transition, 21 points off turnovers, totaled for 30 rebounds, nine assists, eight deflections with a season-high 19 steals and three blocks. For the game, Curtis and Courtney Davis led scoring with 11 points apiece, Wheaton and Woods each finished with 10 points apiece for double-figures. Roberts added nine points for multiple scorers.
