Postdoctoral fellowship in Translational Cancer Research : Lund, Sweden

The division of Translational Cancer Research is a part of Lund University Medical Faculty and involved in high quality basic and translational cancer research. We offer creative and encouraging working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. The division includes modern laboratory facilities and a number of core facilities shared by twelve research groups. We have weekly journal clubs, data clubs, weekly seminars and seminars with invited speakers.

The division of translational cancer research is looking for a skillful, ambitious and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow. The major aims include investigation of the mechanisms of therapy resistance in acute lymphoblastic leukemia and identification of novel targets for therapy. The project also involves the identification of novel signaling proteins which mediate the drug-resistant phenotype and studies on their roles in both leukemia and in normal blood cells using different cell biological tools. The cell biological findings will eventually be complemented with studies with patient-derived xenografts and mouse models.

Qualifications: We expect the applicant to be a highly motivated and highly ambitious scientist with a PhD in Natural Science with one or several of the following skills.
• Biochemical studies involving mouse models.
• Bioinformatics studies involving data mining and large-scale mRNA data analysis.
• Mass spectroscopic studies involving protein phosphorylation analysis.

Applicants need to fulfill the formal requirements for a postdoctoral scholarship at Lund University. The applicant should not have been employed by Lund University within the last two years in order to be able to receive a scholarship. PhD degree should not be more than three years old at the last day of application.

• The scholarship amounts to 22 000 SEK/month and is normally paid three months in advance.

• The scholarship is intended for the recipient's own education and does not constitute compensation for work carried out for the University.
