SPRING LAKE — A Spring Lake man was shot Wednesday, and police are looking for the assailant.

Spring Lake officers were called at 9:37 p.m. about a person who had been shot at a residence on the 400 block of D Street, a news release said.

When they arrived, they found Jonathan L. Rodriguez, 32, inside the residence with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, the release said.

Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident.
