Charter for Independent Estate and Letting Agents, or CIELA, is claiming that property portal site Purplebricks has not complied with a ruling made about one of the site's advertisements by the Advertising Standards Authority.
The ASA has stated Purplebricks must advertise that their flat fee is always payable, which is not mentioned in their current wave of advertisements, according to CIELA. The firm sent in a complaint against Purplebricks to the ASA recently to bring up their continued injunction.
Following this, allAgents has chimed in, asking for an audit of Purplebricks' Trustpilot reviews. A series of negative reviews was posted on allAgents, and since then, Purplebricks has been at war with the reviews site.
“By their own admission, Purplebricks fail to sell 22 per cent of properties, which means one in five customers didn’t get what they paid for. Their 96 per cent approval rating on Trustpilot is highly questionable when you have this number of customers who may well be aggrieved. But when it’s almost 50 per cent, that’s just impossible“ claims allAgents’ Martin McKenzie.
Each of these claims seem to match the overall opinion that Purplebricks has been lying about the number of properties they've sold and how successful they are.
