YORK is among the worst places in the UK to “spend a penny”, according to a new report.
Using a ten-point scale, which took into consideration factors such as cleanliness and hygiene, Soap Supplier - which sells soap and candle-making supplies - gave York’s facilities a measly 3.6.
The survey claims the worst public loos are to be found in Lisburn, Southampton and Portsmouth, which all scored less than three. The top award went to Worcester - but the city still only scored 6.7.
