GLENOLA — A Norfolk-Southern train moving at about 20 mph collided with the back corner of a tractor-trailer rig just off U.S. 311 Wednesday morning. No one was injured.

According to a report from the N.C. Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the rig, driven by Timothy Dale Samuel of Thomasville, was northbound from the parking lot of High Point Logistic at about 9:12 a.m. The train was westbound on the railroad tracks that run parallel to the highway across from Gospel Baptist Church. Trooper Rich estimated the rig was traveling at just 3 mph.

Samuel was charged with failure to yield right of way.
