From a fashion perspective, Theresa May is known for her love of 'fun' shoes: her leopard print flats and kitten heels have been seen everywhere from Downing Street to Davos.
But in a recent interview with Nikki Lilly, a 13-year-old CBBC presenter and vlogger, the PM remembered what she considered to be more of a fashion faux pas from her youth.
“You know I like shoes, these are fine," said May, "I’m not sure you would say the same about the bright yellow, high platform slingbacks that I remember having at one stage. I don’t think I wore them that often actually. I think I bought them and thought ‘why did I buy these?’.”
Perhaps because you liked them? Personally, I don't think you need any more reason than that - they're only shoes, after all. There are lots of purchases that require forethought and research, but I am not sure shoes are one of them.
