A state-wide bandh called by Left parties today is a protest against the "anti-people" Union Budget 2018. YSRC leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy declared a one-day break from his ongoing foot march in view of the bandh

The AP State Road Transport Corporation suspended its bus services across the state in view of the simultaneous agitations. APSRTC has decided not to run any buses till the bandh is over. Educational institutions declared a holiday, while business establishments remained shut. In the West Godavari district police have arrested Left party leaders as a precautionary measure.

In Puttaparthi of Anantapur district, Left workers staged dharnas in front of several Road Transport Corporation depots and also took out rallies in important towns. In Krishna and Kadapa districts also the bandh was complete and normal life has been affected. Travel plans went haywire as there were no linking buses to railway stations.

Even as buses to Tirumala hills have been exempted from bandh, district buses were stopped at the Tirupati bus depot. Train service, however, remained normal. The bandh was total in Kurnool, Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam districts too.
