Toyota Enters B-High Sedan Segment In India; Unveils Yaris Sedan At Auto Expo 2018
Toyota Yaris will come equipped with 1.5L dual VVT-I gasoline engine, mated to a 7-speed Continuously Variable Transmission and 6-Speed Manual Transmission

Toyota Kirloskar Motor unveiled one of the most anticipated launches of 2018 – the Yaris sedan, at the Auto Expo 2018 on February 7. With Toyota Yaris the automaker marks its entry into the highly competitive B-segment in India.
Yaris is named after the Greek goddess Charis who embodies Beauty and Elegance. The bookings for Toyota Yaris will open for customers from April 2018.
Takatomo Suzuki - Chief Engineer, Toyota Motor Corporation said, “We see Yaris as a model that will introduce new customers to brand Toyota in the country. Our focus has been on creating a distinctive, superior car with intuitive functions that is set to lead the next generation of B-High segment and simultaneously drive an emotional connect with the Indian customer base.”
The sedan will have several first in segment features like – Seven SRS airbags, Tyre pressure monitoring system, All Wheel disc brakes, Roof mounted air vents with ambient illumination, Power driver seat, Front parking sensor, Acoustic & vibration control glass, 4.2” TFT MID with Eco wallet, Hand/air gesture audio, 60:40 split rear seats, Adjustable rear centre headrest, and Line guide in RCL.
It will come equipped with 1.5L dual VVT-I gasoline engine, mated to a 7-speed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and 6-Speed Manual Transmission (MT).
From design and styling perspective, Toyota Yaris will have Projector Headlamps, LED Line Guide in Headlamp & Tail Lamps, LED Rear Combi Lamp, Wide Lower Grille, Piano Black Interiors, Waterfall design Instrumental Panel, Daytime Running Lamps, Shark Fin Antenna, and Stitch on Instrumental Panel.
