Elyria man charged with involuntary manslaughter in shooting death

Additional charges have been levied against the son of a Lorain County Common Pleas judge and his girlfriend stemming from the shooting death of their friend.

Jeffrey P. Miraldi, 20, of Elyria, already was facing a single count of tampering with evidence in connection to the Jan. 23 shooting death of 19-year-old Cody Snyder in the 100 block of Clinton Avenue.

Miraldi is the son of Lorain County Common Pleas Judge John R. Miraldi.

According to Elyria Municipal Court documents, the younger Miraldi now is facing a charge of involuntary manslaughter, three additional counts of tampering with evidence and a single count of trafficking in marijuana.

Miraldi’s girlfriend, 19-year-old Jenna Turner, of Middleburg Heights, who already was facing a count of tampering with evidence, now has been charged with two more counts of tampering with evidence, according to court documents.

Miraldi is scheduled to appear a 2 p.m. Feb. 8 for a preliminary hearing before Elyria Municipal Court Judge Gary C. Bennett.

A warrant has been issued for Turner’s arrest, according to court documents.
