The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till Noon today as Congress members, particularly women, protested against the remarks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his reply to the Motion of Thanks to President for his address to the Joint Sitting of Parliament yesterday.
As soon as the House took up Zero Hour mentions, several women members including Renuka Choudhary registered strong protests.
Taking note of the situation, Chairman M Venkiah Naidu said this is totally unbecoming of the members. Mr Naidu said that he will adjourn the House if they don’t want. Later, he adjourned the House till 12 as noisy scenes continued.
