When the person who occupies the presidency was first elected, I made the comment that when we start seeing military parades, we will know that this man is a power monger in the mold of Mussolini, Hitler and Rocketman. Guess what? That’s what was made public Feb. 5.
Lord Acton in 1887 stated, “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” He further stated, “As his or her power increases, his sense of morality lessens.” Can you sense a power grab away from our traditional institutions and the beginnings of a Gestapo-like regime whereby the trust we place in the people who protect us from criminals and enemies, both foreign and domestic, is being eroded, to say nothing of our judiciary and the legislative branches of our government?
The indifference, greed and fear by the people give them the power. It begins subtly and crescendos until the nation is subverted and eventually destroyed.
The United States has the strongest combined fighting forces that have ever been assembled in the history of man. Is this an attempt to showboat our military or is it for the personal adoration of the individual who occupies the top seat in the reviewing stand while receiving salutes as our troops pass in review?
Save the pomp and circumstance for graduations. This would not be a kindergarten show-and-tell event. It would be more on the order of Caesar riding his noble steed ahead of his conquering legion and entering the gates of Rome. Strong men and strong countries do not need to toot their own trumpet.
