Firefighters respond

The Brainerd Fire Department was called at 4:47 a.m. Wednesday to a carbon monoxide alarm going off at a home on the 5900 block of Jepson Road, Baxter.

Baxter police officers assisted the people out of the house and firefighters investigated, determining it to be a false alarm.

Firefighters also were called at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday to a home on the 300 block of Northeast Third Avenue for a report of a smoke scare. Upon investigation, it was determined there was no fire.
