The last time we saw Jessica Jones was in Netflix's The Defenders — a show where Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and the Daredevil came together to save New York City. Netflix had already released a teaser for Jessica Jones' second season. In the teaser, we saw Jessica trying to move on from her past while it continuously catches up with her.
The first teaser showed Jones working again as a private investigator. Her past is still full of surprises as her friend Trish tells her that knowing what was done to her might be helpful. Jones doesn't agree with Trish's idea, and asks “what if facing it makes me worse?”
Now, Netflix has released the first full trailer for the second season of Jessica Jones.
The show, which revolves around an angry street superhero dealing with a traumatic past, is going to take a wild turn with its second season. From what can be seen in the trailer, Jessica will be trying her best to uncover the secrets about the death of her parents. She will also focus on learning about the mysterious experiments that led to her powers. Jessica will be dealing with the traumatic fallout of the events of the first season and her fight with her nemesis, the Purple Man. The aftermath of The Defenders will also play a part in the upcoming season. Then, in the signature Jessica Jones style, there will be an abundance of punching, drinking, and sarcasm.
The second season will start streaming on Netflix on 8 March. Every single episode in the second season will be directed by a woman.
The second season will star Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse) and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez, among others.
