Fans of poke will soon have another option in Spartanburg.

Signs for a Poke Bros location have been put up on the former Little Pigs BBQ location in the Market Square development just off W.O. Ezell Boulevard in Spartanburg.

A Poke Bros representative could not be reached for comment Thursday, but a Collet Real Estate spokesperson said the deal had been agreed upon. It was unclear when the Spartanburg location of the Columbus, Ohio-based chain would open.

Poke, pronounced “poh-keh,” combines meat, typically varieties of seafood, with vegetables, fruits, sauce and toppings in a bowl.

Pokenori in downtown Spartanburg, and other poke-style restaurants nationwide, also offer the combination in burrito form.

Poke Bros dishes feature a customizable poke bowl along with options like the "Johnny Utah," which is salmon with avocado, edamame, cucumber and Sriracha aioli; the "Da Kine," which is tuna with sweet onion, green onion, seaweed salad and special sauce; and "The Duke," which is tuna, salmon and shrimp with seaweed, jalapeno, sweet onion, edamame and spicy sauces.

Poke Bros, with locations across South Carolina, Ohio and Delaware, opened locations in Greenville and Easley last year.
