2018 DIAA Dual Team Wrestling State Championship brackets released

The 2018 DIAA Dual Team Wrestling State Championships will take place Saturday at Smyrna High School beginning with Round 1 at 2 p.m.

The Smyrna Eagles clinched the No. 1 seed in the Division I bracket, while Laured earned the No. 1 seed in the Division II bracket.

The 2018 DIAA Dual Team Wrestling Championship Brackets were announced for both Division I and Division II on Wednesday night.

The Henlopen Conference is well represented in both brackets, filling eight of 12 spots in the state championships.

North Division Champion Smyrna leads Division I as the No. 1 seed, along with three other Henlopen North teams. Salesianum was named the No. 2 seed in the DI bracket followed by No. 3 Caesar Rodney, No. 4 Sussex Central, No. 5 Dover and Blue Hen Flight A Champion St. Georges Tech as the No. 6 seed.

Meanwhile, four Henlopen South squads cracked the DII bracket, led by South Division Champion Laurel. Indian River claimed the No. 2 seed followed by defending champion Milford at the No. 3 seed and No. 6 Woodbridge. The No. 4 seed Archmere Academy and No. 5 Delaware Military fill out the rest of the DII bracket; A.I. duPont originally qualified but withdrew due to injuries.

Tickets are $8 (Good for all 3 Rounds) and go on sale at the door at Smyrna High School at 1 pm.
