MISSISSAUGA — One person is dead following a house fire on Wednesday night in Mississauga.

The fire broke out in a detached home near Lorne Park Rd. and Lakeshore Rd. W.

Peel Regional Police say the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and the victim was found once the fire was extinguished.

Fire has been extinguished. One party was located inside of the residence. Investigation ongoing.

Reports say the man was in his 70s.

There was no immediate information on a possible cause.
