Come April 20, Cambridge Kiwanians will feed the community ... or at least a part of it.

Meeting recently, the Cambridge Kiwanis Club board chose the third Friday in April for the inaugural pulled pork fundraiser. The event is slated for April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The menu will include pulled pork sandwiches, chips, beverage, cookies and cole slaw. The meal will be pre-order only, and delivered.

More details will be released as the event draws near.

In other action, the board approved the club’s participation in the Cambridge Area YMCA Family Center’s cake auction during the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce’s Home, Garden and Business Expo in early March. The club will purchase a basket for the auction, and provide information regarding the club and club activities.

LaDawn Spring reported that scholarship applications have been sent to area high schools sponsoring Key Clubs. Scholarships are awarded in April to student athletes and scholars.

Secretary Rick Long reminded members to submit any volunteer hours, as well as changes in address, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses, to him or Gayle Heinton.

"Thank you" notes are now available to mail to guest speakers in appreciation for them sharing with the club.

Beginning in January, the Club combined its monthly board meeting with the club’s monthly committee meeting.
