Razzak magic collapses Sri Lanka batting line

Bangladesh with Razzak and Taijul magic bowling collapsed the batting line up of visiting Sri Lanka and made them all out for 222 in on the first day of the second and final Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in the city on Thursday.

 

Razzak removed opener Dimuth Karurantne, who was stumped on 3 in his sixth over, after Sri Lanka opted to first.

 

Mendis and another first-Test centurion, Dhananjaya de Silva (19), appeared set to form a big partnership before left-arm spinner Taijul Islam had de Silva caught at first slip, ending a 47-run partnership, BSS reports.

Taijul Islam picked up his second wicket dismissing Sri Lankan wicket keeper Niroshan Dickwella for 1 and then sent back to Dilruwan Perera, who was caught by Mominul. He scored 31 off 55 balls laced with four boundaries.

 

Bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman joined the party as he sent back Akila Dananjaya for 20 making him a clean bowled just before the tea peak.

 

Roshen Silva with 45 on the crease as the umpire removed the bails for tea peak.

 

Abdur Razzak claimed four wickets conceding 59 runs while Taijul Islam captured three wickets giving away 74.

Besides, Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket for 13.
