Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday informed that the recovery process has already started from the mining companies involved in illegal mining.
Speaking to media, he said that the notices have already been issued to the concerned mining firms for recoveries, following the report from a team of chartered accountants, appointed by the state government.
According to him, the notices were sent to the defaulting mining firms, as the team of the chartered accounts found discrepancies in their returns.
“We will proceed further based on the reply to notices by the defaulters,” he said, adding that if they don’t pay the money even after issuing notices, the
government will go for rigorous recovery process.
The Chief Minister also said that charge sheets will be filed in at least a dozen more illegal mining cases in the coming days.
