Register Herald reported that US Office of Miners’ Health, Safety and Training has confirmed a death at Wolf Run Mining LLC Sentinel mine in Barbour County. The accident took place at approximately 3:55 AM when Leonard W. Griffith, 52, of Valley Bend, died when he was struck by a rib roll while working on a continuous mining machine.

Officials reported Griffith was an electrician at the mine.

MHST officials have confirmed they have started their investigation.
