Natore: Police arrested six BNP leader, including an woman, from Boraigram Upazila on Thursday.
They were arrested following the verdict of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's corruption case.
Arrested are Professor Lutfar Rahaman, president of Bonpara Poura-BNP unit, Helena Begum, upazila vice-chairman and BNP women leader of Bonpara unit, Hossain Fakir, poura vice-president of the unit, Rabiul Karim, joint secretary of Boraigram unit Jubo Dal, Tuhin and Sohag Chhatradal activists.
Officer-in-charge of Boraigram Police Station Shahariar Khan said on information that arrested persons were planning to conduct destructive works following the verdict of the court. They conducted a drive at Bonapara party office and arrested them.
