A chance to interact with Israeli filmmaker Dan Wolman

As part of the Sensorium festival’s collateral event Sunaparanta – Goa Centre for the Arts, in association with Consulate General of Israel, Mumbai, will be screening a film by Israeli director, Dan Wolman. The film ‘An Israeli Love Story’ is Dan Wolman’s latest film released in 2017 and has won praise at various film festival around the world. To add substance to the event, Dan Wolman will be present at the event and will also be open to interact with the audience.

‘An Israeli Love Story’ is a 96-minute film in Hebrew- Arabic and will be screened with English subtitles. The movie follows a young coupe in the turbulent times of 1947. The young protagonist Margalit lives in ‘Nahalal’ settlement in northern Israel, loves theater and dreams of becoming an actress. She falls in love with Eli from Kibbutz Beit Keshet. But their wedding is hindered by the dramatic events preceding the birth of Israel.

Director, Dan Wolman is a veteran Israeli filmmaker whose films have been presented in Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Shanghai, India, Moscow and many other film festivals, winning awards and prizes the world over. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Jerusalem International film festival, ‘The Silver Hugo’ award at the Chicago International Film Festival, the ‘Arik Einstein Prize’ for his achievements and contribution to Israeli cinema and culture in 2015 and ‘The Ophir Life Time Achievement Award’ from the Israeli Film Academy in 2016. Including An Israeli Love Story, Dan Wolman has 18 feature film credits to his name.
