Misbehaving with woman before CM shameful: BJP

The attack on Rajeswari Kamila at a recent meeting of the Chief Minister at Talasari in Baleswar district is highly unfortunate and shameful. The dignity of women in the State has been degraded and the law and order situation has crumbled, alleged BJP leader Biswa Bhusan Harichandan at a Press conference here on Wednesday.

Harichandan urged the Chief Minister to tender an unconditional apology and direct the police to lodge a case in the right direction. He said the thrashing and molestation of the womaan, just a few metre from the podium, in front of the Chief Minister is a shame to the civilised society.

He further alleged that male police personnel dragged the woman; and BJD activists beat the woman severely. Thought the incident took place in front of the Chief Minister, he didn’t intervene. All this was caught on camera.

Harichandan said the BJP doesn’t support the woman’s act of hurling eggs at the Chief Minister. But the crime of those who assaulted and molested the CM’s egg attacker is more serious.

Among others, BJP State general secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra and spokesperson Dilip Mohanty were present.
