Kusal Mendis and Dhanjaya de Silva tried to stitch a partnership before Taijul Islam dismissed de Silva for 19 runs. Mendis, who batted along with Gunathilaka, completed his half century in the first session. Razzaq came back strongly just before Lunch to take 2 wickets in 2 balls as he dismissed Gunathilaka for 13 and skipper Dinesh Chandimal for a golden ball duck. Sri Lank have managed to cross the 150-landmark with still 4 wickets in hand. It seemed difficult at one stage when the side went 110/6. But this partnership of 46 runs has brought them back in the match.
