Fargo man arrested in Super Bowl sex trafficking sting
WOODBURY, Minn. – A Fargo man is facing felony charges after his arrest in this Twin Cities suburb in a weeklong Super Bowl sex trafficking sting.
Mitchell Harold King, 40, was one of at least three men arrested for soliciting prostitution from someone they believed to be 13 to 16 years old.
Advertisements for sex with children were posted to two websites, Craigslist and Backpage, by authorities with the East Metro Sex Trafficking Task Force. King and others responding to the ads were told meet at an apartment in Woodbury, where they were arrested upon arrival.
King responded to a post that included "suggestive looking" photos of a girl, according to the criminal complaint. The officer sent text messages to King, who said he was OK with her age, which was said to be 15, and agreed to pay $150 for sex acts.
At the Woodbury apartment, King attempted to flee when officers tried to arrest him. When he was apprehended, King had condoms and $150 in cash.
