Amritsar, Feb. 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women organized a cultural fiesta for nearly 150 delegates of 14th Biennial Conference of Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ISIAM) being held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The cultural programme began with the college song Akhand Jyoti. The students of Youth Welfare Department of the college enthralled the audience with their colorful performance of various cultural items, such as, folk orchestra, mimicry, giddha, classical dance and kalbalia dance. Documentary on the cleanliness campaign of the college was also shown. While addressing the audience, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia threw light on the cultural and sports achievements of the college. She added that the stage of the college has served as a platform to launch many artists. Prof. Pammy Manchanda Head Dept. of Mathematics, Guru Nanak Dev University and the organizing secretary of the ISIAM thanked Principal Dr. Walia for hosting the event. Sudershan Kapoor Chairman, Local Managing Committee gave a vote of thanks. Prof. A.H. Siddqi, President, ISIAM, Prof. Pammy Manchanda, Padma Shri recipient Dr. N.K. Gupta, IIT Delhi, Dr. T.D Narang a senior academician, Mrs. Manju Duggal, Dr. Ritu Sharma, Mrs. Rajni, convenors of the event along with the delegates of the conference, faculty members and the students of the college attended the programme.
