Singer-songwriter Willie Nile has a fabulous collection of original, blues-driven material, but it’s hard right now not to associate him with his recent tribute to Bob Dylan, “Positively Bob.” Nile tackles Dylan’s songbook with obvious passion and an earthiness that really ground the Nobel Laureate’s poetry. Songs such as “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” “Blowin’ In The Wind,” “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35,” “I Want You,” “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and others are handled with love, and consequently feel fresh and natural.
