KOCHI: The government has informed the High Court that IMG director Jacob Thomas, who is under suspension for pointing out corruption, did not have to face any action.

The government has explained that the action by Jacob Thomas was part of his official duty and hence this doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of protection given to the category of whistle-blowers, who point out corruption.

DGP Jacob Thomas had approached the HC seeking the legal protection given to whistle-blowers. He has alleged in his petition that he is continuously being hunted, targeted, insulted and troubled because he stands against corruption.

The HC has sought the explanation of both the Centre and the state government on this petition.
