What can I do to make myself seem more interesting to women? A lot of them find me boring and my friends tell me I can't hold anyone's interest for too long because I don't have anything to say. How do I change this about myself?

There are some things I refuse to eat because of my religious beliefs, and this has started to cause some friction between me and my girlfriend. She wants me to be open-minded and eat everything, because she says it's hypocritical to eat some things and refuse others. She confuses my religious beliefs for hypocrisy, even though I have repeatedly tried to explain to her that I do some things only out of deference to my family and what they believe in. I don't know if this relationship has a future if she continues to deny me the right to simply eat what I want to. Am I over-reacting?

Was your girlfriend unaware of your religious beliefs or your reasons for choosing to not eat some things before you decided to get into a relationship? It sounds as if she wants to change the way you are for reasons that aren't exactly clear. If what you choose to do doesn't harm you, her, or this relationship, I don't see why she must insist on trying to enforce her point of view. I don't think you're over-reacting. I think she should respect your beliefs and allow you to eat what you choose to simply because you are an adult. We are fast becoming a country ruled by people who want to impose their own narrow worldview on what the rest of us should and shouldn't eat. You should be free to decide, and she should recognise and respect you enough to give you that freedom, especially if you don't impose your own beliefs upon her.
