Police detained 10 activists of Jatiyatabadi Chahtra Dal (JCD) and
Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal from Chankharpool area in Dhaka following a clashe with law enforcers on Thursday afternoon.
Among the detainees, four JCD activists are Faisal, Nayeem, Billal and Raihan, and Mahila Dal activist Poppy.
The arrests were made at about 1:30pm before pronouncing the verdict against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
A makeshift court sentenced BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to five years of imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The court also awarded Tarique Rahman, BNP's senior vice president and party chief's eldest son, and four others 10 years in jail.
Md Akhtaruzzaman, Judge of the Special Judge’s Court-5, pronounced the judgment after reading the 623-page verdict for 18 minutes.
The court also fined them Tk 2.10 crore each.
