Slamming the flagship schemes of the NDA government, Azad said that the healthcare scheme introduced in the Budget is not going to yield any results for the common man. He said that the healthcare scheme was, in essence, a health insurance scheme which would benefit insurance companies and not the common man. He said that looking at the preceding examples of much richer nations, he can predict that the scheme will prove to be another hollow promise. 

He also said that the much touted Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was being strangled in the lack of fund. Citing data he said, when the scheme was to be implemented in 161 districts the Budget was 200 crore, now when you plan to expand it to 640 districts, it is 280 crore. "What is the math," he said.
