Vice-Chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation Chanchalapathi Dasa on Wednesday said the Union Budget’s emphasis on making the education system digitalised would take India closer towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals-4 (SDG-4). The implementation of project Revitalising Infrastructure and Systems in Education (RISE) by 2022 is a brilliant step to provide the much needed boost in education sector, Dasa further said. His foundation is actively engaged in the Centre’s Mid Day Meal (MDM) scheme.
Praising the efforts of promoting education for tribal welfare, Dasa said the development of ‘Eklavya’ schools for tribal populace as announced in the Budget will be a boon for the rural areas with a dense population of tribal kids.
“The 20-30 percent increase in the budget of National Nutrition Mission will also give a push to transform the MDM programme into a holistic school nutrition program,” Dasa said.
