38-yr-old gangraped in Pandav Nagar, three arrested

A 38-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by three men in East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area.

As per the complaint of the woman, who is married, the three men —Tausib, Asib and Hasib — held her child captive and threatened to harm the child if she did not fulfill their demands.

A senior police officer said the incident came to light on Tuesday after the woman lodged a complaint with the local police.

According to police, the three accused forcefully entered the woman’s house and took her child captive. “The victim told us that the three men threatened to kill her child, if she did not fulfill their sexual advances,” said the officer.

She narrated her ordeal to one of her neighbours with whom she visited the police station to lodge a complaint, police added.

Following the complaint, the Delhi Police arrested all the three accused.

Meanwhile, two minor girls were raped in two incidents. In the first incident, a 13-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour in Badarpur area. Police said that the incident happened on January 21 but the minor girl was so scared that she did not disclose about the ordeal to anyone. It was only on February 1 that she opened up about her ordeal to her mother after which her parents approached the local police.

Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southeast, “Based on the complaint, we have arrested 20-year-old Babloo. He has been sent to judicial custody.”

In the second incident, Class XII student of a private school was raped by a middle aged man.

A senior police officer said, “Ajay Kaushik, resident of Nawada was arrested. He raped the minor girl while she was going for her tuition classes.  The girl told her parents about the incident after which they approached the local police and registered a case under the POCSO Act.”
