GACL profit leaps 137% in Q3

Ahmedabad, February 8

State-run Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) posted record net profit of ₹112 crore for the third quarter ended December 2017, up 137 per cent against ₹47.32 crore reported in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net sales stood at ₹612 crore, up 28 per cent, from ₹476 crore. For the nine-month period, company's net profit improved to ₹313.96 crore, showing an increase of 42 per cent, against ₹221 crore.

During the nine months ended on December 31, 2017, GACL achieved net sales of ₹1,733 crore, up 15 per cent, against ₹1,510 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.
