San Jose startup gets $53M to turn injectable drugs into pills

Rani Therapeutics Inc. has raised $53 million in new funding as it prepares for human clinical testing of its pills that are designed to take the place of injectable drugs. The San Jose-based company led by entrepreneur and venture capitalist Mir Imran said that the new round brings its total funding to date to $142 million.
