'Report on environmental damages by March'

Imphal, February 07 2018: Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board, Laishram Radhakishore Singh today has informed that the Board will bring out a detailed report on the causes and consequences of environmental damages and climate change affecting the rivers and lakes of the State by March.

He was addressing the release of an official souvenir titled "Eishu Nakhoigumna" of Saksham Manipur Prant 2018 at the auditorium of Nupee Lal Memorial Complex today in commemoration of the Eye Donation Fortnight Campaign, 2017.Speaking as the chief guest, Radhakishore said that the Government will try to change the conditions of the rivers and lakes back to the level 50 years back.

He appealed to the people to cooperate and lend support in the efforts to revive the environmental balance.

He also said that if man harms the nature, nature too will harm man so we should use our natural resources wisely and sustainably.

Radhakishore observed that a mass awareness on eye donation movement is required in the State, Though some people are born disabled, their life and contributions are as much valuable as an able person and the important thing is to live together happily, sharing the gift of nature amongst the people, he added.

He further appealed to the people of the State to donate their eyes to the needy.

The release function was also attended by former Minister Dr Khwairakpam Loken and several other dignitaries.
