38th All India Major Ports Lawn Tennis Tournament started at NMPT on 8 February 2018. The New Mangalore Port Sports Council & Major Ports Sports Control Board will be organising this event from 8 to 10 February 2018.
Mr Suresh P Shirwadkar, Chairman i/c NMPT & President of New Mangalore Port Sports Council – the Chief Guest of the function has inaugurated the matches at 9.30 am on 8 February 2018 at the NMPT Recreation Club premises.
Mr A.V. Harinath, Dy.Chief Engineer(Civil), NMPT & General Secretary of New Mangalore Port Sports Council presided over the function. Matches will be held simultaneously at NMPT Recreation club premises and NMPT Officers Club premises. Teams from Major ports of JNPT, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, Deendayal (Kandla), Goa & NMPT- the host port are participating in the tournament
The Prize Distribution Function will be held on 10 February 2018 at the NMPT Recreation Club premises at 4.30 p.m.
