Surveillance video helps catch break and enter suspect

Windsor police are hailing the importance of surveillance video after using it to identify and arrest a man who allegedly broke into a grocery store.

Windsor police are hailing the importance of surveillance video after using it to identify and arrest a man who allegedly broke into a grocery store.

The break-in occurred Jan. 20 around 5 a.m. in the 2100 block of Huron Church Road. Police said someone got into the building by smashing the front entrance glass. The property crime unit reviewed surveillance video and recognized the suspect.

Patrol officers found the man in the 2700 block of Howard Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.

James McMillan, 38, from Windsor, is charged with break and enter.
