Mojo Networks, providers of massively scalable carrier-class WiFi, has received phenomenal response for its ‘WiFi Think Fest 2.0’ from over 500 students and professionals across India. The contest is an attempt to encourage participants to develop innovative applications and services which can enhance the use of WiFi in rural India.
The Indian government is focusing on making India digital and providing internet connectivity in rural India. BharatNet is a project of national importance aimed at developing nationwide optical fiber network to provide broadband connectivity to more than 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats. Apart from this, telecom operators are also eyeing Indian rural market as a new growth avenue and players such as Reliance Jio, Facebook and Google are providing WiFi hotspots to the locals. These initiatives have given a whole new high, changing the landscape of digital connectivity in rural India.
Innovative ideas which extend the power of WiFi beyond just a means of internet access to rural India will be felicitated. The awards ceremony for this contest will be held at the 5th Wi-Fi Knowledge Summit, an initiative which brings together WiFi practitioners and enthusiasts to develop best practices for WiFi planning, deployment and optimization. The summit will be a grand event on 9th March 2018 at The Chancery Pavilion, #135, Residency Road, Bangalore.
On this occasion Pravin Bhagwat, Co-founder and CTO, Mojo Networks said, “More than 4 billion people in the world still do not have access to the internet. We at Mojo Networks envision a digitized India wherein all of India’s connectivity requirements will run on seamless and secure WiFi. Building a secure, high-performing centrally manageable, cost effective large scale WiFi network is absolutely required. Our cloud WiFi platform has the world’s largest public WiFi network (Reliance Jio) under a single management console. With WiFi Think Fest 2.0, we are looking for innovative ideas to maximize the utility of large scale government projects such as BharatNet, thereby resulting in the socio-economic upliftment of people.”
