(MENAFN - UkrinForm) Expenditures of the Kyiv city budget for social protection and social security grew by 68% to UAH 7.9 billion in 2017.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this during an annual report at a meeting of the Kyiv City Council on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
'We are focused on the social protection of residents of the capital, vulnerable segments of the population. We have remained the reduced fare, special prices for social bread and medicines," Klitschko said.
He noted that expenditures of the 2017 city budget on social protection and social security were raised to UAH 7.9 billion, which is '68% more than in the previous year".
Klitschko also added that UAH 4.4 billion were allocated for the housing and municipal services sector last year, which is UAH 1 billion more than in 2016.
