KOLLAM: The BSNL is finally stepping into the 4G era, and they will be introducing their 4G service in India for the first time out of four of their towers in Idukki district in Kerala.
BSNL is getting into the 4G arena after repeated requests from their customers demanding the same. They will be converting their Udumbanchola, Udumbanchola Town, Kallupalam, Chemmanoor, and Senapathi towers into 4G in the first phase.
By March, more tower sites would be made ready to give 4G speed.
CMD Anupam Sreevastava had earlier said that the BSNL would introduce 4G in the country, starting with Kerala.
To begin nation-wide 4G service the BSNL would need to acquire new spectrum license.
The project submitted for this is under the consideration of the Centre.
